The stability ball is one of the most offered piece of equipment in fitness facilities today. Why??? Well, there is a solid foundation for the popular piece of equipment. According to a study published in The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, crunches performed on the stability ball showed significantly greater abdominal activation than regular crunches. The results found heightened activity by as much as 38% using a stability ball when compared with the traditional crunch.
And not only are stability balls good for abdominal strength, every exercise done using the ball helps add an element of instability and balance, making your core and muscles work a little bit harder... not to mention, stability balls are fun!
Come try our Interval Fitball Class on Wednesdays at 8:30am!
